Lyle Bradford Clark, 90, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.

Mr. Clark was born November 29, 1912, in Beach, ND, to Jesse and Christine Clark. He graduated from Beach High School and then went on to attend the Capitol Commercial College in Bismarck, ND. He was employed at the state capitol in Bismarck. He enrolled at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD. After a year he transferred to North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND, and graduated in 1940. He was a life member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Lyle enlisted in the US Army and served in the Army Signal Corps, Alaskan Command from January 1942 to October 1945.

Lyle married Grace E. Johnson at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, August 4, 1944, while on furlough from the army. Following his discharge from the service, he returned to Moorhead. He opened the Lyle Clark Insurance Agency, which he operated for many years. He then merged with the Bjornson Insurance Agency. Later Lyle and Lloyd Helmeke purchased the agency. Lyle retired in 1982.

Lyle was active in the community. He was a charter member of the Moorhead Central Lions Club. He was also a charter member of the Concordia College C-400 Club. He was a member of the Moorhead Masonic Lodge, having served as Grand Master. He was a member of the Daylight Lodge, Fargo. He devoted much time to the hospital visitation program of the Masons. Lyle was a life member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, having served as commander of both. He was a charter member of the Clay County Safety Council. He enjoyed membership in Pioneer Toastmasters #272 for many years. Lyle was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead. During his retirement years, Lyle devoted much time to "SCORE", Service Corps of Retired Executives.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Grace; two daughters, Terril Pederson, Moorhead, and Jeanne (Gary) Larson, Waseca, MN; four grand- children, Nicole and Ryan Pederson, Scott and Linda Larson; four sisters, Iva (Wendell) Bevers, Rocklin, CA, Loma (Donald) Gilman, Beach, ND, Pansy Madsen, Glendale, AZ, and Betty Wheeler, Bozeman, MT; two brothers, Deed Clark, Tucson, AZ, and Charles (Dottie) Clark, Gig Harbor, WA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Joy Geier, and a brother, Richard.

Lyle loved to fish. He also enjoyed swimming, bowling, and walking. His family was very important to him and his greatest joy was in spending time with them.
