William Irons Burtis, Jr., beloved son of William Irons Burtis and the late Constance (Waldo) Burtis, loving brother of Stephen Waldo Burtis (father of Nicholas Burtis), uncle of Jennifer, Andrew, Nicholas and Bradford Burtis and grandfather of Nicholas Burtis.


Aviation Ordnanceman Third Class (AO3) Bill Burtis, Jr. was a Navy Veteran attached to Helicopter Attack (Light) Squadron Three, HA(L)-3, in Vietnam from 1969-1970 where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal (w/4 bronze stars); Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation; Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation; and Vietnam Campaign Medal.


A memorial service was held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Friday, November 24, 1989, at 5 P.M.
