Machado was last seen the night of Nov. 10, when she and her daughters left her grandmother's Homestead house, where they had been staying since she split with Sierra.
The bodies were not found until Tuesday afternoon some 30 miles north, at the home Machado had previously lived at with Sierra on the 7300 block of Northwest Fourth Street in Flagami. A woman who rents an efficiency in the home found Machado and Julia and Daniela Padrino, ages 8 and 4, laid out inside a closet. Police have not released how they died.
Gladys Machado, 29, and her two daughters were found dead at 7310 NW 4th St. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012. Miami-Dade Police said that the bodies of the mother and the girls, ages 4 and 8, were found in a closet.
On Tuesday, friends and relatives, including the father of Machado's three children, Michael Padrino, gathered outside the house where the young woman was killed, according to the Herald.
The man told the paper that Machado's third child, six-year-old Michael, was safe with his grandmother. The boy was not present during the murders.
Machado worked as an administrative assistant for the Beauty Schools of America and had attended Keiser University, according to her Facebook page.
Olga Cecilia Espinoza, whose children attended the same school as Machado's kids, described the 29-year-old as a good mother who was chatty and friendly.
Espinoza said she last tried to reach Machado at around 10pm Friday, but received no response.
Several hours later, the 29-year-old woman posted an odd message on Facebook saying: ‘Where this road goes no one knows.'
