OBITUARY

Olai Alsager

Olai Alsager, son of Lars and Kari Alsager, was born in Skaanevik, Norway, Dec. 17, 1883 and died at Story City hospital Dec. 31 at the age of 71 years and 20 days.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Norway.

At the age of 18 he emigrated to this country, coming to Illinois where he worked at farming for a short time. He then came to Story county, Iowa, where he joined his brothers in business in Story City and where he resided until his death.

In November, 1925, he married Borghild Smaaland of Bergen, Norway.

He is survived by his wife and son Charles; and five brothers, Charles, Oliver, Eric, Severt, all of Story City, and Johan of Norway; and three sisters, Mrs. Marie Dyvik, Mrs. Helene Kjillesvik and Serine Alsager all of Norway.

Funeral services were Jan. 5 at Larson funeral home and Immanuel Lutheran church. Burial was in Story City cemetery.

At the prayer service Verne Hill sang "Jesus, Lover of My Soul" and at the church service he sang "Den Store Hvide Flok" and "Abide With Me."

Pallbearers were Peter Vick?e, Henry Thorsbakken, William S. Starkey, Martin S. Olson, Harry K. Henderson and Carl Sondall.
