Decatur - Richard L. Bodden, 66, of Decatur, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2012. Memorial services will be Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11 am with visitation 1 hour prior. Both will be at Mt. Pleasant Church of God, Assumption, IL.
Richard was born May 20, 1946, the son of Maurice L. and Dorothy (Newlin) Bodden. He married Vicki A. Bilyeu on August 14, 1971. She preceded him in death.
He was a member of New Beginnings Church of God, Decatur, IL. Richard was the owner of Bodden Insurance Agency in Assumption where he sold insurance for the last 24 years.
Surviving are his son, Travis (Jill) Bodden; daughters, Tami (Brandon) Simmons and Amber Bodden; grandchildren, Haley and Brooks Bodden and Paige and Brayden Simmons and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Church of God, Assumption; New Beginnings Church of God, Decatur or American Cancer Society.
