ALFRED – Florence L. Clark, 81, of Court Street, died Thursday, August 22, 1996 at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford after a brief illness.

She was born in Sanford on November 21, 1914, a daughter of Delbert and Bernice (Foss) Jenness.

She attended Sanford schools, and was a graduate of Sanford High School.

Mrs. Clark was a member of the Pleasant Street Free Baptist Church in Springvale, and the Fern Chapter, Order of Eastern Star in Alfred.

Her husband, Clifton W. Clark, died in 1978.

She is survived by six sons, Charles E. of Kittery, Clifton Jr. of Harbor Hills, Ohio, Richard A. and Thomas E., both of Sanford, Peter J. of Columbia, SC, and Dean J. of Alfred; a brother Parker Jenness of Sevierville, TN; a sister, Ethel Jewett of Saco; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
