Edna Alice Sunderman, 76, of Griswold, died Sunday, September 24, 1995, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.

The daughter of Edward H. and Hazel Ruth White Barnes, she was born December 3, 1918, at Grant, IA. She graduated from Grant High School in 1936 and then attended Rudimore School of Hairdressing in Des Moines. She worked in Red Oak for a short time and Atlantic for two years before starting her own shop, Edna's Beauty Shop, which she operated until 1982. On May 12, 1940, she married Wilbur Martin Sunderman at Lewis, IA. They lived in town in the winter and moved to the farm for the summers. She was a member of the Griswold United Methodist Church and a gold star member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Grant.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Wilber on February 9, 1991.
