T/5 Russel O. Rastliff was a pararooper in Company B 307th Airborne Engineers, 82nd Airborne Division. He was killed in a time bombe explosion in the barracks in Napoles, Italy, where his company was stationed.

It was 0830 hrs when the time bombs exploded, killing twenty three engineers.

T/5 Russel O. Ratliff was one of them. He was buried in the temporary American Naples Cemetery in plot-grave B-8-98. After the war his remains were repatriated and buried in the Ferguson Cemetery, Floyd County in Kentucky.

The Roll of Honor for the 82nd Airborne Division is available in a book, working on a second revised edition
