Sarah E. (Keefer) Dayley, 82, went to be with the Lord at 7:45 AM on Wednesday November 14, 2012 at the home she shared with her daughter in Greencastle, PA. Born January 22, 1930 in Clearspring, MD, she was the daughter of the late J. Clinton and Emma S. (Mills) Keefer. She graduated from Mercersburg High School with the class of 1947 and from Washington County Hospital Nursing School in 1950. Mrs. Dayley married James E. "Jim" Dayley on January 3, 1951 in Harrisonburg, VA. Jim died January 26, 2004.
She was a member of Welsh Run Church of the Brethren, where she served with the Ladies Aid and custodian of the church and cemetery with her husband for 50 years. She enjoyed doing puzzles and reading. She is survived by three children: David A. Dayley, Beverly Lehman and Roy S. Dayley, all of Greencastle; 5 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 3 great- grandchildren; 23 step-great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-great-grandson and a sister, Gladys Dayley of Greencastle.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dayley who died February 22, 2006; a brother, Ray Keefer and a sister, Helen Divelbiss.

Services will be Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Welsh Run Church of the Brethren in Mercersburg. Elder Bill Spangler and Nathan West will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, November 16th from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Welsh Run Cemetery Fund, c/o Eugene Rice, 7072 Wayne Highway, Waynesboro, PA 17268
