MASHEK- Antoinette (Toni) Drasky. Died on Christmas night. She was a long time resident of Omaha and was preceded in death by her husband, William Mashek. She was the President and Owner of Auto Photo, Inc. in Omaha as well as the Vice President of Platte Amusement of North Platte, NE. Mrs. Mashek was one of the founders of the Heart of America Aquarium Society in Kansas City and was known for her interest and recognized expertise in philately and numismatics.
As an avid fisherwoman, she fished from the Artic Ocean South to the Bay of Islands in New Zealand. She was also a small and large game hunter.
She had a later in life interest in racing thoroughbred horses, having owned and raced at Ak-Sar-Ben in Omaha. One horse named "Rex" still holds a track record at one mile and 70 yards, another "Landscaper", (co-owned and trained with Jack Van Berg) won the Century Handicap Grade 1 at one mile and three quarters at Hollywood Park in California.
As a rated owner and pilot of single and multi-engine aircraft, she and her husband flew all over Canada, the U.S. and the Caribbean in the course of their business and personal adventures.
Her continuous philanthropy includes the Salvation Army of Omaha, Uta Halee Village Home for Girls, Child Saving Institute of Omaha and the Christ the King Educational Trust Fund.
She is survived by four nephews and nieces and numerous great, and great grand nieces and nephews.
Services Friday 10:00 A.M. at the John A. Gentleman Mortuaries 72nd Street Chapel. Interment Linwood Hill Cemetery in Linwood, NE.. A Wake service will be held Thursday 5:00 P.M. at the 72nd Street Chapel.
