John O. Schellhorn of north of Gladstone, Nebr., passed away suddenly Tuesday, January 9, 1945 at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 17 days.
John Otto Schellhorn was born January 23, in Beatrice, Nebr., the son of Henry Schellhorn and Marie Knoche Schellhorn.
On April 12, 1894 he was married to Lisette Bohlmeyer at Deshler and to them were born two sons and one daughter.
The family lived for a number of years in various places in Nebraska and several years ago purchased a farm north of Gladstone. His wife preceded in death October 13, 1943.
He is survived by two sons, Harry and William and a daughter, Lisette, all of whom live in the Gladstone vicinity; by eight grandchildren, Delores, Arnold, Wayne, Elmer, Leland, Leona, Marvin and Richard and a brother, Louis Schellhorn of Chester.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Trinity Lutheran church west of Gladstone, with the pastor, Rev. Laurence E. Wachholz, pastor, officating. Burial in the church cemetery.
