For many, many years O.A. Hovey has worked and wrought at his trade in this locality. Hundreds of buildings are the work of his hands and they will recall remembrance of him for many years yet to come.
It is a sad duty to perform when we are called upon to record the death of a person whose upright life had won for him the esteem and good will of all who knew him. And yet it is a pleasure, in a sense, to be able to commend the virtues of a man who possessed so many of them as the subject of this notice did. Unpretentious, unassuming, yet ever faithful, diligent and honest, O.A. Hovey's life cast an influence for right living that will ever be an honor to his name. Mr. Hovey had been ill for a year past, had been in poor health, in fact, for two or three years. He died last Saturday morning. Age sixty-two years. He has lived for many years in this country and in this city about seven years. The funeral occurred last Monday at the M.E. church, Rev. Haw conducting the services.

Believed buried in Lookout Lutheran Church Cemetery. Unable to verify the burial and no gravestone was found.
