GWENDOLYN MOXLEY HEARNES, age 96, formerly of Charleston, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 17, 2009 at Stonehaven Assisted Living in Maumelle, AR.

She was born on April 25, 1913 in Dermott, AR to the late Ernest and Pearl Shown Moxley. She had lived in the Little Rock, AR area for many years where she was a member of the Pulaski Heights Baptist Church in Little Rock.

On February 4, 1938 she married Donald Hearnes who preceded her in death on January 20, 2002.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Warren G., Prince, and Byron Moxley, and one sister Margaret Farmer.

She is survived by one daughter, Margaret (Chris) Albright of Maumelle; two sons, John (Mary) of May Flower, AR and David of Little Rock; five grandchildren, Meredith (Steve) Janski of Heber Springs, AR, Justin (Carey) Bolick of Maumelle, Danny (Heather) Albright of Little Rock, and Landon and Erik Hearnes of May Flower; two great-grandsons, Luke and Noah Janski of Heber Springs; two brothers, Fred Moxley of Charleston, MO and Don Moxley of Bertrand, MO; two sisters, Emma (Bill) Laird of Lady Lake, FL and Peggy Walker of Memphis.

Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2009, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009, with Rev. Dan Faust, Pastor of the United Methodist Church in Charleston, officiating.

Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Charleston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
