She was born April 15, 1912, at Charleston, the daughter of A.S. and Ora J. Johnson Brown. She and Richard W. Hearnes were married Dec. 7, 1935, in Cape Girardeau. He died in January 1967.
She had lived in the New England states; Shreveport, La. and Independence before returning to Charleston in 1960. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and its Methodist Women, and Susannah Wesley Sunday School Class.
Survivors include a son, Richard Hearnes; a brother, Alfie Brown; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at McMikle Funeral Home. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
