OBIT: The trumpets of the Lord called the Rev. Elmer Clouser on Monday, March 29. Sunday was a day of hugs and humor. He loved to tell stories. Laughter was important to him. Rev. Clouser was called to the ministry at a Tabernacle Revival Service in Forest Hills, MD in 1950. In 1959, he was ordained as a Deacon, and as an Elder in 1961. His first charge as a full-time Minister was in Pennsylvania serving five churches. Rev. and Mrs. Clouser moved to Inverness in 1986. They both have children and usually visited them in the Spring, except for the last few years. Every Christmas, the congregation was presented with a book mark and prayer. He served as an Outreach Pastor in the Hernando United Methodist Church in Hernando. Communion was served by him to shut-ins and hospital patients. Many of us enjoyed his singing. He loved the hymn "In the Garden". New members were visited by Rev. and Mrs. Clouser. At our buildign fund dinners, he welcomed all at the door. He will be missed but we all know he is resting in Heaven. Psalm 23 was his favorite and he always said it at funerals. Psalm 23:4 "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me and your rod and staff comfort me." Farewell, our friend, rest and we thank you for the many happy hours you shared with us with love and prayer. A plaque will be on the library door by the Circle of Joy, spoken by Grace Tindale, Chairperson. In remembrance of Pastor Elmer Clouser, the library will be called THE CLOUSER LIBRARY AND CHAPEL. This for our brother and friend and also for Emogene Clouser who encourages reading.
