His birth was not recorded in the Oakham Vital Records, but "The Settlement and Story of Oakham, Mass. Vol. II, Pg. 419, lists James, Jr. b. 1755 (age 67 at death)."

Although his gravestone indicates he died in the 68th year of his life, the Oakham Vital Records, page 112 also states his age as 67 as seen on gravestone. Burial is in the Old Graveyard by the Church, Oakham, Worcester, Massachusetts

James Bell, Jr. was the second son of James and Martha (Crawford) Bell. He was a Revolutionary Soldier.
James Bell & Anna Osborn, daughter of Joseph and Jennett (Hodge) Osborn, were married in Oakham, Worcester, Massachusetts; intentions of the marriage were posted 14 July 1792.
