Services for Arthur "Art" Gustave Dahl, III, of Grand Saline, will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 1 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater with Larry W. Osborne officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Gladewater Memorial Park. Born on May 3, 1942, in Youngstown, Ohio, he died on Friday, November 2, 2012. A graduate of South High in Youngstown, Ohio, he attended the University of Lewisville. A veteran of the United States Army, he served 26 ½ years of active duty and retired as Master Sergeant E-8. He and his wife, Arylene, owned and operated two flower shops in Central Texas and Copperas Cove in Florence. Actively involved in the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts as lead master, he also coached Little League baseball, football, and basketball. He and his wife were foster parents to several hundred foster children for many years. Today he is mourned by his three sons, Shawn A. Dahl, Skyler G. Dahl, and Arthur Dahl, IV; step-son, Timothy Parnell ; and 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur G. Dahl, II, and Mary V. Dahl; wife, Arylene J. Dahl; and step-son, Anthony Parnell. Pallbearers will be the Honor Guard from Ft. Hood, Texas. Known as "Dad/Pop" to all, he was a care-giving individual that always extended himself in all that he did
