SAD TIDINGS FROM IOLA, KANSAS

Tidings which clouded fair expectations of a happy Thanksgiving time with heavy sorrow for relatives and many friends of Mrs. Ralph Adair reached Janesville from Iola, Kansas this morning. At her home on Fourth avenue Mrs. Ida Brown lies prostrated with grief over the message received informing her that her daughter and only child, who was wedded but six weeks ago today and with whom she expected to spend the Christmas holidays, died at four o'clock this morning. A telegram directed to Mrs. Brown, appraising her that Mrs. Adair was critically ill and urging her to come at once reached Janesville at eleven o'clock last night, but it was not delivered. The message announcing her death which was delivered simultaneously with the night message this morning was the first to be opened. Mrs. Brown was unconscious from the shock most of the morning and had not recovered entirely at noon. She had not even known that her daughter was ill. Mrs. And Mrs. Carlos Brown, her parents, are overwhelmed with grief. No details have been received, but a later message brought word that Mr. Adair would start at once for Janesville with the remains and would arrive some time tomorrow. For a long prior to her marriage on October 18 Mrs. Adair was employed in the Parker Pen Co.'s offices. Possessed of a beautiful character and an amiable and sunny disposition, she was almost worshipped by her many friends.
