Cadillac (MI) -- Paul E. Umphrey of Mesick died Friday night, January 12, 2007, at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. He was 82.
He was born September 7, 1924 in Burlington, Iowa, to Geoffrey Paul and Maude Mae (Walker) Umphrey. He married the former Lois A. Thibodeau on August 28, 1943, and they had lived in the Pontiac area for 20 years and moved to Mesick in 1970.
Survivors include: his wife, Lois of Mesick; daughter, Sharon Aldrich of Cadillac; sons, Steve (Terese) of Cheboygan, and Mike (Dawn) Umphrey of Roscommon; nine grandchildren, Curtis, Kim, Jenny, Shannon, Jeremy, Joshua, Lois, Michael and Scott; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Bearde of Troy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a brother; and a son, Paul E. Umphrey Jr.
Memorial services will take place in the spring in the Antioch Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements were made by the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac.
