A. J. Carlson Dies Suddenly; Heart Disease
Seized with a sudden fainting spell, Arthur J. Carlson, 629 East Twelfth street, slumped to the runing board of an automobile at a filling station at Fourth street and Pershing avenue shortly before 9 o'clock Saturday night, dying suddenly.
Filling station attendants saw him fall to the pavement and called the police. Coroner J. D. Cantwell was summoned and after an examination stated the cause of death to be heart trouble. No inquest will be held.
Mr. Carlson was a sheet metal worker for many years in Davenport. He was born in Burlington, Ia., Oct. 5, 1888.
The body was removed to the Stapleton Mortuary. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Funeral services for Arthus J. Carlson were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Stapleton chapel. The Rev. Arvid Chindblom officiated. Services were in charge of the Moose lodge with the following officers taking part; F. W. Zabel, dictator; E. U. Meyer, secretary, W. Mengel, vice dictator, and W. E. Metz, past dictator.
Louis Koenigsaecker sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Lead Kindly Light".
Pallbearers, all members of the Moose, were Earl Houghton, G. D. Nolan, M. H. Nolan, LeRoy Miller, Charles Eade and Fred Algers.
Surviving Mr. Carlson are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Carlson and two brothers, Edwin and Carl, all of Davenport.
