Adams, Albert O., 85, of Route 1, New Martinsville, WV, formerly of Smithfield, WV, died Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV. He was born August 2, 1922, in Smithfield, the son of the late Perry and Rosetta (Slider) Adams. He was a retiree of Glory Coal Company, a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and a Protestant by faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Audra Aldridge Adams, a son, Gerald Owen Adams; a daughter, Pamela Kay Adams, and 12 siblings. Survivors include his first wife and mother of his children, Ethel Mae Adams of New Martinsville; four daughters, Patricia Carvoo of Canton, Ohio, Karen Godbey of Spencer, WV, Kimberly (Ernest) Hatcher of Raleigh, NC, and Lisa (Charles) Booth of New Martinsville; two sons, Tommy Lee Adams and Kelly David (Misty) Adams, both of New Martinsville; two stepsons, Joseph (Helena) Aldridge of Parkersburg, WV, and James (Valerie) Aldridge of Monongah, WV; a caregiver, Shirley McKinney of New Martinsville, 21 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-9pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:30pm with Pastor Bob Brooks officiating. Interment in Stout Family Cemetery, Smithfield, WV where military services will be conducted by the Sistersville Honor Guard.
