Rose Miller, age 90, of Hutchinson, died Friday, Oct., 19, 2007 at the Burns Manor in Hutchinson.
She was born Aug. 23, 1917 in Kandiyohi County, the daughter of Gerit and Jennie (Huisman) Naber. Rose grew up and attended country school near Kandiyohi.
Rose was united in marriage to John W. Miller in October of 1940. They farmed in the Dassel area until they moved to Hutchinson in 1995.
A devoted farm wife, Rose was also active in her church family. Rose and John were members of the Farmers Union, and were active in the Meeker County REA.
Rose enjoyed making rag rugs, gardening, and reading. She also enjoyed watching the weather and, before radar, was every bit as accurate as any weather forecaster. She loved her family and will be missed.
Rose is survived by her children; Janice (Richard) Bishop of Wenatchee, Wash., Jane Miller of Rochester, Joanne (Larry) Mack of Kittitas, Wash., Marlyce (Lee) Barndt of Laurel, Mont., and Marcia (Pete) Stickel of Sun Prairie, Wis.; grandchildren Chris Mack, Scott (Rosie) Barndt, Shawn (Jerene) Barndt, Jonathan (Jennifer) Stickel, Dan (Amy) Stickel, Gina (Jerry) Blakeman and Mindi Stickel; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters Wilma, Ruby, and Violet Naber, all of Willmar.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John W. Miller; brothers Edwin, Paul, and LeRoy; and sisters Leone and Margaret.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. Interment was in the Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.
Visitation took place Monday, Oct. 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield handled the arrangements.
