Charli was a Llasa Apso and belonged to my parents. My Mom picked him out and of course he immediately attached himself to my Dad.

He was a really smart puppy and learned very fast. He also learned how to get my Dad to give him treats when he watned them. He took naps with my Dad and I think even liked to watch football games.

We fell in love with Charli and the breed and decided to get a Llasa of our own. We got our little Scruffy who became best friends with Charli.

They loved to play together and often would play tug of war with a doggy rope. It was the funniest thing to watch because Charli was older and much bigger and stronger but he would let his little buddy win.

Charli was also very tolerant of children our new puppy and would allow Scruffy to nibble on his ears, climb all over him and even steal his food.

It was very hard on my parents both elderly when Charli died. They had pets of one kind or another forever and felt that was the last one they would ever have.

Charli is buried in my backyard. He was the first one there, his little buddy Scruffy is now next to him as well as Allie Girl and now my Rusty Girl.

The Heart Of A Dog
It came to me that every time
I lose a dog they take a piece
of my heart with them,
and every new dog
who comes into my life
gifts me with a piece
of their heart.

If I live long enough,
all the compponents of
my heart will be dog,
and I will become as
generous and loving
as they are.
