Mathias Bach, October 24 Mathias Bach, 92 years old of Baker, formerly of Hartland, Wise., passed away Friday, Oct. 24, in the Fallon Memorial Hospital. Mr. Bach was born June 27, 1883, in Hartland Township, Pierce County, Wise., to John and Lucy Bach. He resided in the Herbert community for 80 years.
In 1963 he retired from farming and moved to Baker to live with his daughter. In June of 1917 he was united in marriage to Ella Larson at Minneapolis. She preceded him in death in March of 1965. Mr. Bach was active in Modern Woodmen and all community programs at Herbert.
He was a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Eldon (Violet) Rasmuson of Baker, two sisters, Mrs. Josie Hunke of Redwing,' Minn.; and Mrs. Laura Meyers of Fargo; two brothers, William and John Bach, both of Ellsworth, Wisc.; one granddaughter, Mrs. Don Maas of Hoven, S.D.; and one great grandson, Matt Maas of Hoven, S.D.
He was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held in the Stevenson Funeral Chapel Saturday, Oct. 25. Rev. Dennis Keane officiated.
Mrs. Herb Jundt and Leon Newell provided the music.
The body was taken to Wisconsin where services were held Tuesday at, 2:00 p.m. from the Hartland Methodist Church.
Rev. Douglas Dowling officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker was in charge of the arrangements.
