Ruby Lee is the daughter of Noah and Emma Bagley she married Virgil Cauley Aug.20,1948
she and her unborn baby was killed in a car wreck at Waynesboro Ga. Ruby Lee had a 20 month old daughter "Barbara" There was also another young lady killed in the wreck. Ruby Lee would have been 21 on April 21, the baby was thrown a long ways from the car into some bushes but did not have a scratch on her. The husband of the other woman that was killed was the only one that was left in the car and he was not hurt. Ruby Lee's husband had a lot of cuts on his face and almost lost his ear but recovered from his injuries..
There were six people in the car.They had been to Alma Ga for the weekend for the birthday of Virgil's father. they left there in the early hours going home to Augusta Ga so the men could get to their jobs That morning,the wreck happened at 5 AM-- and the ones not driving was asleep.. so the only reason that was given for the accident was that the man driving went to sleep to.. The tires were about slick and it had rained so with the wet road and slick tires the car went into a slide and turned over.. They were in a station wagon and had a large tool box full of tools in the back.. the tool box came over and hit the back of the front seat where my sister was sitting and shoved the seat into the dash board of the car she had a fractured skull and a crushed chest wall,she lived ten minutes after she was brought into the hospital..
Ruby Lee was pregnant with her second child when she was killed so that took the life of the unborn baby also. She is my sister. we miss her so very much

Just before the wreck Ruby Lee's little girl was laying in her arms asleep, she had just put the baby in Virgil's lap so that, they say saved the child's life..God saw what was about to happen so he moved the baby to safety,wouldn't her time to go..
