Born in the small village Sörbo in Söderbärke, Daniel emigrated Sweden in spring of 1887 with destination Worcester, MA. His first wife Charlotta Gustava Eriksson, her daughter Elin and their common son Bernhard arrived there in the fall same year.
Charlotta died in Aug 1891 and she was buried in Old Swedish cemetery, Worcester MA.
In the fall of 1893 Daniel was married to his second wife Christine Johnson, an emigrant of Sweden. Two years later they re-emigrated along with Daniels son Bernhard, with destination Alberta, Canada. They setteled in Gwynne, Wetaskiwin cty as farmers, where they lived for almost 20 years until they retired in Kirkland pre WWI.
