On August 20, 1905, a Deed was made to transfer land from Oscar A. & Mary M. Garton and Bennett & Martha Dorsey, to W. C. Tucker and S. T. King as Trustees of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and their successors forever. This deed transferred 3 1/2 acres of land "for the use of the public as a cemetery".
