Farber Cemetery

The first cemetery of Farber was located within the present city limits, just north of the Farber Baptist Church and the Farber United Presbyterian Church. There were many graves in it when Farber purchased four acres of land on October 6, 1883, from William and Katrina Schulz. This land, located approximately one and one-half miles south of the Farber city limits on the east side of State Highway AA, became the new cemetery.
The Farber cemetery became an association in 1912 and in 1949 was incorporated.
In 1990 thirty-six veterans of various wars were listed as being buried there. Civil War: ____ Charles, Dick Hart, James Clrk, John Carroll, William Boulden, Nehemiah Bower, George Chase, John Fields, Alexander January, Pelatiah Osterhout, M.A. Sims, Simeon Ross, Frank Doyle and ____ Grigsby. World War I: Biggs Adams, Ira Sutton, Albert Sutton, Lee White, Ed Cassidy, Ed Ladd, Clifton E. Berry, John Trabue, Dick Remley, Cash McMillin, Irwin Gruer, Francis Doyle. World War II: Charles Green, Billy Wayne Brandon, Hadley Verdier, Homer DeOrnellis, Edgar Wallen, Floyd Vannoy, John Keith Hinton, Henry Lyon, Robert Mosley and Charles Lynn.
