THIS CEMETERY SHOULD NOT BE CONFUSED WITH OLD TOXAWAY BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY! Old Toxaway Baptist Church Cemetery is a sister cemetery to Old Toxaway Baptist Church Upper Cemetery and both cemetery interments are maintained by the Old Toxaway Baptist Church.
Old Toxaway Baptist Church is among the oldest churches established in the Rosman and upper Transylvania County area with it's beginning in 1879.
At that time, it was built in an area that was known as Galloway, NC and also served as a small school and voting place.
Since that time, nineteen men have served as Pastor's of the church and are listed below.
The church has two cemeteries; the upper cemetery that is set off in the woods on a quaint, quiet hillside and the lower cemetery that is much larger and located next to the church.

Accordng to undisclosed sources, there are approximately 129 unmarked graves in the upper cemetery of Old Toxaway Baptist Church. The upper cemetery is closed to new burials.
Of the 129 unmarked graves, it is probable that many of these are children. Of the 107 identified graves, there are 30+ children. Many older cemeteries hold the graves of children who were lost to the Spanish Flu Epidemic of 1918.
