Many of the early Rothermel settlers were farmers. Upon landing in America they took advantage of the land grants being offered by the Penns in Pennsylvania. It was common practice in the 1700s and early 1800s for farmers to bury their dead in family plots somewhere on the property. Over the centuries many of these burial plots have been ploughed over or swallowed up by developments. On this page we showcase those private cemeteries that have survived the ravages of time.
