This is a very small family burial plot (about 8' x 15') and it is located in the middle of a subdivision a few miles west of Buda in the front yard of a residence. Property was at one time owned by Jim Washburn. A rock wall approximately two feet tall circles the burial plot and at one time it had two large hackberry trees growing out of it. Unknown if the trees are there today.
Vandals in the area began to tear down and destroy the site including the stone wall so Jim Washburn took the grave stones to his home and stored them in his garage. This action made it impossible to know which stone went to which grave at a later date. It is unknown by me if the little cemetery was ever restored. Hopefully so.
The cemetery is located in the Leisurewood Subdivision. Take FM Rd 967 from Buda and go about three miles to a intersection of 967 and Canyon Wren Drive. Turn right onto Canyon Wren and drive .4 mile to the second street to your right (Towhee). Turn right onto Towhee and drive to 313 Towhee. The graves are located on the right side of the street, about ten feet from the roadway.
