From San Antonio take I-35 South to Devine, Exit 122 off I-35. Turn right on Hwy 173. Follow TX-173 through Devine to FM 2200. Turn left on FM 2200 and proceed about 5 miles. Turn right on C.R. 660. Look for the Black Creek Bapt Church sign. Follow C.R. 660 1.9 miles to C.R. 654. Turn left and proceed about 2 miles to the metal gate on the right side of a left turn. Enter the gate and proceed to the cemetery gate on the right. The cemetery is on private property. An early settler named John Wright Howard gave the land for the cemetery circa 1890, but people of other surnames are buried here.
The cemetery was commonly known as upper Black Creek Cemetery for many years. Many death certificates list burial at Black Creek cemetery and are referring to this cemetery instead of the cemetery now named Black Creek cemetery nearby.
There are at least 6 graves with no legible markers. Other than unmarked graves or new burials, all the graves are online as of Feb 2011. It is still an active family cemetery.
