Add PhotosL.F.M. Easterday wrote a short history of the family in 1908. Kate Easterday (1826-1884), great-granddaughter of Christian and Julianna, wrote to L.F.M. Easterday the following: "There is a beautiful stream of water flowing through the entire length of our valley called the Catoctin creek. The Easterday family graveyard is on the east side of the creek and the Blessing graveyard on the west of the creek. Both are on a hill, and not a quarter of a mile apart. There is also a graveyard where they buried their colored people. All the seven brothers but two owned farms, married, lived, died and were buried in the Middletown Valley. These are Christian, Conrad, Jacob, Francis and Abraham. They were all buried with their parents in the Easterday graveyard...The graves are all visible and have plain marble slab tombstones."
L.F.M. Easterday visited the cemetery himself in 1903 but did not make a complete transcription, omitting women (with the exception of Julianna) and children. He made note that the oldest burial was Julianna in 1804 and the most recent was her son Francis in 1841. He described it as "less than fifty feet square" and its location was "about half a mile southwest of the old Easterday home by the spring, about one and a half miles west of Jefferson."
