1933 to 1940
for the burial of remains of individuals who died in state institutions and whose remains were not claimed by family. Graves are marked only by a cement marker with a number on it, no names or dates.
The cemetery is at the corner where Pontiac Ave becomes Knight St. on the Cranston/Warwick city line.
In June of 1975, remains from State Institution Cemetery #3, CR0063 were moved here and buried in a common grave. This was done to facilitate the building of the Howard power plant.
June 2008 - remains recovered from a wash out at State Farm Cemetery, CR 0060 were moved here and as much as possible, individual graves were created. Most of State Farm Cemetery now lies under Rt37.
