Sadler's Chapel, a Methodist church, is located in the North Eastern part of Macon County, Tennessee, near the Kentucky state line.
DIRECTIONS:
From Bugtussle Rd. or Hwy 87, South West of Bugtussle, Kentucky, go South East onto Irma Woodcock Rd. which becomes Sadler's Chapel Road before interception with Winkers Rd.
The Chapel is on a county road to Winkers Crossing, east of Bugtussell, Monroe County, Kentucky. Bugtussell is on Hwy. 261.
HISTORY:
Saddler's Chapel Methodist was establish about a hundred years ago (1886).
The older records bunred many years ago. They still meet in the original building which has been renovated.
The land for the church and cemetery was given by John Sadler. He, along with his neighbors, donated the lumber for the church house and constructed it. The Saddler family descendants have composed the main part of the membership since its composition. Some of the Wilsons have also been faithful members. They have about 40 members at present with Reverend Earl Davis as pastor.

SADLER FAMILY REUNION:
Every year, on the second Sunday of the month of September, the descendants of Jasper Sam Sadler sponser a family reunion at Sadler's Chapel. Descendants of John Wesley Sadler attend this family reunion and enjoy barbecue with a large buffet. Harlin Sadler has been financing this event for many years.

HENRY SADLER was born Bet. 1755 - 1774 in North Carolina, and died Bet. 1820 - 1821 in Jackson County, Tennessee. He married ELIZABETH "BETSY" CARPENTER June 14, 1791 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, daughter of JONATHON CARPENTER and MARY. She was born Abt. 1771 in Virginia, and died October 1846 in Smith County, Tennessee.

JOHN2 SADLER (HENRY1) was born 1802 in North Carolina, and died ABT. 1887 in Smith County, Tennessee. He married SARAH LINA Bef. 1823. She was born 1805 in North Carolina, and died Bet. 1850 - 1860 in Jackson County, Tennessee.

JOHN WESLEY3 SADLER (JOHN2, HENRY1) was born 1823 in Jackson County, Tennessee, and died 1902 in Red Boiling Springs, Macon County, Tennessee. He married SARAH "SALLY" T. GREGORY Bef. 1848. She was born 1823 in Tennessee, and died September 29, 1892 in Red Boiling Springs, Macon County, Tennessee.
JOHN WESLEY SADLER, having a United Methodist religion, provided the land for Sadler's Chapel Church and Cemetery. He also donated lumber for the building of the church.
