According to the land records recorded at the court house in Brookhaven, in 1925 Brother Clarence Boone, then living in Pearl River County, Miss. deeded one acre to construct a meeting house. In 1927, the first building measuring 24 feet by 32 feet was constructed. Materials which was mostly used lumber and brick, which still remain, was from the Denman Lumber Company at Norfield.
The name Cold Springs comes from a railroad stop which was located between Thayer crossing and Bogue Chitto.
