While the church is now gone, Kingsbury Presbyterian Cemetery (Newton Township Cemetery) still remains today as a peaceful, country cemetery with active burials. Alexander Thompson, who fought under George Washington in the Revolutionary War, is buried here. He is the only known soldier who fought in the Revolutionary War to be buried in Whiteside County.
