This family cemetery is located close to the DeKalb – Gwinnett County line on Winters Chapel Road. It is a well-kept historical cemetery next to North Atlanta Memorial Park and Chapel Mausoleum and across the street from Winters Chapel Methodist Graveyard, another historical Dunwoody resting site. This is the resting place of several of Dunwoody's founders and their descendants including Eidsons, Donaldsons, Gardners, Hendersons, Lords, Martins, Spruills, Stricklands, Woodalls, and others.
Bois Eidson's Son, Boyce Eidson, kindly donated this property in the 1800s for use by his family. The first known burial was in 1869 of Boyce's own mother, Catherine (Willard) Eidson, who died of Tuberculosis, then referred to as Pulmonary Consumption. One hundred forty-seven years after this first known burial, Miles Wilson Dempsey, the Brother-in-Law of Boyce's Great Grandson Perry Lee Eidson, was laid to rest in August 2016.
Like many other rural cemeteries from the olden days, we believe the picnic tables and benches were built here for family gatherings held after Funerals.
