Smith's Creek (Nymbool) Cemetery
Tablelands Region, Queensland, Australia
Eacham Historical Society writes - Nymbool previously known as Smiths Creek (in the Mount Garnet area) was an early mining town. The cemetery was surveyed in 1902 and the first burial was in 1903. At the time of the survey the town already had two hotels, a store, butchership and blacksmiths. Later there were three hotels. EHS has records for 11 burials between 1903 and 1930, but today only one is marked with a name - Daniel McKinley who died in 1923. EHS also has the names of 7 people who are buried in lone grave locations near Nymbool. The cemetery is amongst the trees not far off the road.
