Add PhotosAccording to a church history, St. Mary's was initially part of the Marlboro Charge, but in the early 1900s, it was assigned to the newly created Nottingham Charge. After a period when St. Mary's was reassigned to the Marlboro Charge, it rejoined the Nottingham Charge in 1905. The Nottingham Charge consisted of St. Mary's and Brooks Church, with both churches served by the same minister.8
Under the leadership of Rev. Frederick D. Myers, the church history relates, St. Mary's church was renovated in 1947 with the addition of a choir loft, a choir room, study, and basement. The frame church was destroyed by fire in 1965, and the congregation began to hold services at St. Simon's Episcopal Church, Croom, using the hall at the Croom Settlement School for Sunday School classes.
In 1966, the congregation began holding services at Brooks Church. In 1968, Brooks Church (15601 Brooks Church Road, Upper Marlboro) and St. Mary's Church merged and became Myers United Methodist Church.
The cemetery is located near the edges of the church property. There are approximately 43 marked graves and an unknown number of unmarked graves.
