Add PhotosMarie's survey of the cemetery - and the only record found for these five burials - is in the book "Some Cemeteries of Anson County, N.C." compiled by Marie Gulledge Wiggins and published in the 1970s by Now and Then, Monroe, North Carolina. The book has long been out of print.
This Horne family burial ground is not found on Findagrave at this time (17 January 2016). The five names of those buried here have also been sought on Findagrave and no memorials for them found.
Marie found only these five grave markers in the mid to late 1970s. She gave no further information about the graveyard or the people buried here beyond that which is transcribed here from her book.
Her description of the location of the cemetery lacks detail. Anson County Road 1703 which is Old Stanback Ferry Road, runs north out of Lilesville to the old Stanback Ferry (formerly Mask's Ferry). "About five miles from Lilesville" would place the cemetery somewhere in the vicinity of Horne Crossroads, Horne Colored School, and Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Since Marie was probably going north out of Lilesville, "on the right" would probably indicate the cemetery is on the east side of Stanback Ferry Road.

This cemetery page - and memorials for the five people with markers here - was created by Jo Church Dickerson in January 2016. It is based on the cemetery survey by my mother, Marie (Gulledge) Church Wiggins in her book, cited above.
