L'église de Saint-Édouard-de-Lotbinière, considérée comme un élément exceptionnel de notre patrimoine religieux, présente des dimensions impressionnantes; par conséquent, il est souvent appelé une «cathédrale en bois». Construit en 1901, sous la direction de l'architecte Davis Ouellet et de l'entrepreneur général Joseph St-Hilaire, il remplace l'église de pierre érigée lors de la fondation de la paroisse en 1863, une paroisse distincte de Lotbinière. La ville de Saint-Edouard porte le nom d'Edouard Faucher, fondateur et premier prêtre de la paroisse, et de René-Louis Chartier de Lotbinière, premier propriétaire de la seigneurie dans laquelle Saint-Édouard se trouvait.

The church in Saint-Édouard-de-Lotbinière, considered to be an exceptional component of our regligious heritage, boasts impressive dimensions; hence, it is often referred to as a ‘wooden cathedral'. Built in 1901, under the guidance of architect Davis Ouellet and general contractor Joseph St-Hilaire, it replaced the stone church that had been erected when the parish was first founded in 1863, a distinct parish from Lotbinière. The town of Saint Edouard is named after Edouard Faucher, founder and first priest of the parish, and René-Louis Chartier de Lotbinière, first owner of the seigneurie in which Saint-Édouard lay.
