Burriscarra Graveyard is 1 mile west of the village of Carnacon on the eastern side of Lough Carra in County Mayo. It is about 10 miles south of Castlebar and 9 miles northwest of Hollymount.
The graveyard is the site of Burriscarra Abbey, a ruined Carmelite priory and National Monument. The abbey was founded in 1298, but most of the ruins date from the 15th century when the church was rebuilt after a fire.
