King Wilhelm I of Prussia (1688-1740) gave refuge to protestant Christians fleeing the Catholic prosecutions in the late 17th century from Bohemia, an area now belonging to the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
This second Bohemian cemetery was originaly founded in 1825 for the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. In 1971 the Blücherstrasse (north of the cemetery) was widened by two lanes for which large portions of the cemetery were leveled. What's left today is a small 6 meter (18 ft) wide cemetery remnand with 2 rows of old graves. The original gate is also still present. Some original wall epitaphs have been saved and relocated to the Böhmischer Gottesacker (Berlin-Neukölln).
