Research Information:
The original house built by Abraham DeMoss was a two-story log structure and was named for Belle Vue, in honor of the first home of his father Lewis DeMoss, one mile southwest overlooking the Harpeth River. About 1818, a west wing was added, including parlor, entrance hall, staircase and two bedrooms upstairs. Descendants of the DeMoss family continued to live at Belle Vue until 1971. The house is privately owned today (2006) and not open to the public. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
