Obituary from "The Burlington Free Press," dated Monday, October 7, 1946, page 15:

"Joseph T. Deyette died in a local hospital, yesterday, after a lingering illness. He was a member of the League of the Sacred Heart of St. Francis Xavier. He is survived by his wife, Virginie Cormier Deyette, 2 daughters, and a son, Earl, of Troy, NY, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Peters, of Burlington. Pall bearers were Roy Peters, Leo Fountaine, Chester Murray, and Eli Ritchie. Burial in St. Francix Xavier."

Joseph's parents were Joseph Deyette and Florence Guyette. His first wife was Laura/Phebe Rivers (1869-1929 or 1931?). His son, Earl, listed in the above obituary, was the son of Joseph and Laura/Phebe Rivers. I have seen 2 names for the wife of Joseph: Laura Rivers and Phebe Rivers. These 2 people may be one and the same. Phebe Rivers is listed on the 1880 federal census for Clinton, NY, living with her father, Moses Rivers (listed as a widower) and her probable siblings; Henry, John, Louis, and Mary Rivers. This whole family was living with Moses Rivers' parents, Clement and Almeda Rivers. Moses Rivers' second wife was Florence Sharkey (or Chartier).

The wife listed, Virginie Cormier, was the daughter of Octave Cormier and Delia Poissant. The pall bearers listed were related to the deceased.
1. Roy Peters (Edward Roy Peters), was the son of Edward Roy Peters, Sr., who was a son of Joseph Deyette's sister, Sarah Deyette Peters and her second husband, Joseph Peters.
2. Leo Fountaine was a nephew-in-law, husband of Elizabeth "Bessie" Muir. Bessie Muir was the daughter of Joseph Deyette's sister, Sarah Deyette and her first husband, Charles Muir.
3. Chester Murray was the son of John B. Murray (aka; Jean Baptiste Marrier in some documents), and Emma Cormier. Emma Cormier was the sister of Joseph Deyette's wife, Virginie Cormier.
4. Eli Ritchie - relationship unknown but probably related to Joseph Deyette's son, Earl Deyette, who married Mary "Mamie" Ritchie.
