Terry Eugene Poling, age 67 of Friendswood, Texas, passed away suddenly in Webster, Texas on Saturday, June 15, 2019. Terry was born on December 12, 1951 in Richmond, California. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Franklin Poling, Sr. and Alzina Yancey Poling; step-father, Al Kauk; brother, John Poling.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Karen Poling; sons, Rocco Poling and wife Kelly, James Poling; daughter, Lori Kothe and husband Doug; brother, Scott Schoue; grandchildren, Joshua, Makayla, Jadon, Michael, Jesse, Brianna; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Terry was a hard worker who spent more than 32 years in the oil refinery and chemical plant business, moving up the ladder from an iron worker in the fields all the way to the Construction Manager overseeing the building of the entire plant. He loved fishing, tending his flower garden, BBQing, cowboy movies, and time with his family. A lifelong jokester, he brought tons of laughter to those around him, both with his humor and his contagious laugh. He was a man of generosity which took many forms: money to those in need, a job for someone struggling to find work, a household item someone lacked, or even food that he would BBQ up for all the neighborhood kids. For these reasons, as well as so many others, Terry will be deeply missed by family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. at Scott Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to "K9’s for Warriors" at www.k9sforwarriors.org, an organization that provides service canines to veterans suffering from things like PTSD.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Scott Family, 1421 East Hwy. 6, Alvin, Texas 77511.
