Mike Young Yancey, 93, of Cordova, TN went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, April 1, 2017. Mike was born December 12, 1923. He is the son of Confederate Army veteran, Private John Samuel Yancey of the Mississippi Partisan Rangers of the Confederate Army. His mother was Nancy Pearl (Pickens) Yancey.

Mike has been married to his wife, Louise Wildmon Yancey for 73 years.

He was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Ellis Yancey.

He is survived by his son, Michael Yancey(Liz) of Cordova, TN; granddaughter, Sarah Yancey Dixon(Kyle); and great-granddaughter, Ella Claire Dixon of Senatobia, MS.

Mike is retired from the United States Navy after 23 years of service to our country. He served during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. His hobbies included: collecting revolvers, making leather holsters for his collection, and fishing.

A visitation will be held Monday, April 3, 2017 from 10-11 with a funeral service at 11:00. All services will be held at Covenant United Methodist Church with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Covenant United Methodist Church at 8350 Walnut Grove Rd., Cordova, TN 38018
