At Gettysburg the Tenth again participated in some heavy fighting, under the command of Captain Yancey. In May, 1864 he was permanently disabled by a severe wound.
He was married to Victoria Julia Winsborough 2/15/1860. After the war, the Yanceys raised a huge family. The children were tutored at Riverbank, their home. The photograph shows Captain Yancey at Riverbank.
