In 1989, Belinda Yancey, a teacher at Mayfield High School in Mayfield Kentucky, disappeared. She was located in Florida and it was discovered that she had been kidnapped. When she was located, she was found to be drugged and incoherent. Mayfield Police Officer Terry Sanders,his wife Melissa Sue Sanders, Belinda's husband Charles L. Yancey, and Rev. Charles Nelson all took a private plane to Florida to retrieve Belinda. On the way back, the plane crashed at the Mayfield Air Port and all passengers including the pilot were killed.
